*GENERAL OBSERVATIONS: Kya is a bright, energetic 2.5-year-old dog with a big heart and an even bigger love for her people. She’s curious, sweet, and quickly becomes her person’s shadow — if you’re home, she wants to be right by your side. Whether you’re eating, napping, relaxing, or heading out for an adventure, Kya is eager to join in. She loves car rides, enjoys bike rides, and adapts quickly to her family’s routine.

Kya is currently living with her foster mom and an 11-year-old foster brother, and she does well with both children and adults. She warms up to other dogs within about ten minutes. She gets excited when she sees people, dogs, cats, birds, lizards — really anything that moves — and may try to greet them with playful jumps. She is a good leash walker and responds well to her foster mom’s “move on” command, making outings enjoyable and manageable.

This affectionate girl loves to snuggle and soak up attention. She’s a good eater, though she sometimes eats or drinks too quickly, which can lead to tummy issues; a morning Pepcid has been helpful for her. Kya is fully potty trained (and even knows how to use a litter box) and is also crate trained, making her an easy companion at home.

Kya enjoys her toys and loves to chew, so small items — like her foster brother’s toys — need to be kept out of reach. She also has a funny habit of snuggling into dirty laundry, so keeping clothes picked up is a must.
