*GENERAL OBSERVATIONS: Mia has such a sweet, calm, patient, and loyal nature. For an 8 1/2 year old, she has a lot of "pep in her step"! Walks are her absolute favorite thing in the entire world! She gets visibly excited when it's walk time and will rush to the front door to be put on her leash. She likes to walk at a pretty brisk pace, and the longer the walk, the better. She has been bamboozling us into 4 or 5 walks a day! This is great because she could benefit from losing a few pounds. Mia also loves being a couch potato or curling up in her favorite bed. She gets so visibly happy when lifting her onto the couch and seems so exciting for her. She loves it even more if her person is right next to her with cuddles and pets. She will return the love with 1000 kisses.
Mia especially enjoys belly rubs and will roll onto her back in the sweetest way to ask for them.
She has been extremely patient and gentle with the three resident dogs in the foster home. One has tried to initiate play but Mia does not appear to be interested. Instead she calmly relocates herself and communicates without any growling or any signs of aggression. She is even patient with foster other dog who has a very alpha personality. Foster has not observed any food aggression either. She listens and obeys, and has great recall.
Overall, Mia comes across as a very loving, people-oriented dog who forms close bonds with her people. She would likely do well in a home that can provide regular walks and allows a pup on the couch. She could do well as a single dog in the home or with dogs who will give her the space she needs to feel safe and comfortable. Mia is a one of a kind gem and deserves to receive all the love in the world.
